Witaj Gold Coast, żegnaj Queensland!

Gold Coast przez wielu nazywane jest australijskim Miami. Czy się z tym zgodzę? Nie wiem ponieważ akurat tam, w Miami, (jeszcze!) nie miałam okazji się wybrać. Prawdą jest, że jeżeli ktoś szuka słońca, plaży, mnóstwa surferów, a przy okazji nowoczesnych wieżowców, restauracji i wielu sklepów to niech nawet nie zwleka. Dla wielu podróżników wybierających się na południe jest to również ostatni punkt na mapie w stanie Queensland.

Gold Coast is called australian Miami by many. Do I agree with that? I don't know because I didn't have a chance to go to Miami (yet!). The truth is that if someone is looking for sun, beach, lots of surfers, modern skyscrapers, restaurants and many shops, it's a place for you. For many travelers heading south, this is also the last point on the map in Queensland.

Surfers Paradise 

Jak na zdjęciu poniżej widać, Gold Coast uważane jest za raj dla surferów. Widać to szczególnie po liczbie sklepów i specyficznym stylu, który od razu rzuca się w oczy. Jedną z największych atrakcji turystycznych jest wejście na 360-stopniowy balkon widokowy tzw. SkyPoint znajdujący się na 77 piętrze budynku Q1 Tower. Sam budynek ma wysokość 275 m., a z iglicą 323 m.  Cena takiej przyjemności zaczyna się od 75$. W środku znajdują się luksusowe apartamenty, spa oraz restauracja.

As you can see in the picture below, Gold Coast is considered a paradise for surfers. This is particularly evident in the number of shops and the specific style, which is immediately noticeable. One of the biggest tourist attractions is the entrance to the 360-degree SkyPoint balcony located on the 77th floor of the Q1 Tower. The building itself is 275 m high and 323 m with the needle. The price of such pleasure is $75. Inside there are luxury apartments, a spa and a restaurant. 

Gold Coast whale watching 

Jest to nic innego jak oglądanie wielorybów, które migrują w miesiącach czerwiec - październik na północ, do cieplejszych wód aby mogły urodzić młode lub znaleźć partnera i powracają z powrotem. Odmówiłam sobie wejścia na SkyPoint, ale moja miłość do zwierząt nie dała mi przepuścić takiej okazji. Wybrałam firmę Spirit Whale Watching z powodów finansowych; za to, że powiedziałam hasło "hello Gold Coast" dostałam 40$ zniżki. Płaciłam więc 59$ zamiast 99$.

It is nothing more than watching whales migrating from June to October to the north, to warmer waters in order to give birth to their young or to find a partner and return. I didn't go to SkyPoint, and my love for animals didn't let me miss this opportunity. I chose the company Spirit Whale Watching for financial reasons; for saying "hello Gold Coast" I got a $40 discount. So I paid $59 instead of $99.

Jak wygląda taki rejs? 

Trwa on ok. 2,5 godziny. Trzeba pamiętać, że nikt nie jest w stanie nam zagwarantować, że wieloryby będą akurat w tym czasie przepływać lub że będą wyskakiwać z wody i robić akrobacje. W przypadku gdy ich nie zobaczymy WCALE, kolejny rejs będzie darmowy. Akrobacje... cóż, trzeba mieć szczęście. 

Lepiej ubrać się cieplej i mieć kaptur lub coś na uszy ponieważ strasznie wieje. I radziłabym zabrać aparat fotograficzny (niestety musiałam robić zoom na telefonie i widać to po jakości zdjęć). Na pokładzie znajduje się profesjonalny fotograf (zdjęcia można kupić w trakcie rejsu za ok. 20$) oraz przewodnik, który opowiada co nie co o życiu tychże ssaków.

What does a cruise look like?
It lasts about 2. 5 hours. Remember that no one can guarantee that whales will be swimming at that time or that they will jump out of the water and do stunts. If you do not see them AT ALL, the next cruise will be for free. Stunts. . . well, you have to be lucky.
It is better to dress warmer and have a hood or something on your ears because it blows terribly. And I would advise you to take your camera with you (unfortunately I had to zoom on the phone and you can see it in the quality of the photos). On board there is a professional photographer (photos can be bought during the cruise for about 20$) and a guide that tells you about the life of these mammals.

Miałam niesamowite szczęście bo nie dość, że stałam na samym czubku z najlepszym widokiem to jeszcze wieloryby rzucały ogonami bardzo często. Jeden wyskoczył cały!!! Ale działo się to tak szybko i niespodziewanie, że niestety nie mam ani zdjęcia ani wideo. Zostaje to jednak w głowie i w sercu i nigdy nie odejdzie. Polecam to każdemu ponieważ nie ma nic piękniejszego niż oglądanie zwierząt dzikich w ich naturalnym środowisku!

I was incredibly lucky not only to have stood at the top with the best view, but also to have the whales throwing their tails up very often. One jumped out of water!!! But it happened so quickly and unexpectedly that unfortunately I have neither a photo nor a video. But this is in my head and in my heart and will never go away. I recommend this to everyone because there is nothing more beautiful than watching wild animals in their natural environment!
