Bundaberg: więcej niż rum

Małe miasteczko Bundaberg jest znane przede wszystkim ze swojej destylarni rumu. Byłam, zwiedziłam i próbowałam. Wiem jak robią rum z którego są z resztą bardzo, ale to bardzo dumni. Jednak cena $30 za wejście do muzeum plus oprowadzenie była według mnie trochę za duża. Szczególnie, że oprócz dużych pojemników gdzie dzieje się cała fermentacja itp. nie pokazano nam nic specjalnego. Ciekawszy był dla mnie browar Lecha w Poznaniu (i nie, nie dlatego, że jestem poznanianką) gdzie można było zobaczyć cały proces produkcji łącznie z tysiącem butelek wężykowato sunących na taśmach produkcyjnych. Ale jakie jeszcze atrakcje kryje za sobą Bundaberg poza destylarnią rumu?

The small town of Bundaberg is known primarily for its rum distillery. I've been, I've seen and I've tried. I know now how they make the rum tthat hey're very proud of. However, the price of $30 for the entrance to the museum and the tour in my opinion was a little too high. Especially that apart from large containers where all the fermentation takes place etc. we were not shown anything special. I was more interested in Lech's brewery in Poznań (and not because I'm from there), where you could see the whole production process, including thousands of bottles on production lines. But what other attractions does Bundaberg hide besides the rum distillery? 

BUNDABERG 

Mieszkałam tam 5 miesięcy więc miałam okazję poznać to miasteczko naprawdę dobrze. Z pomocą lokalnych znajomych odwiedziłam bardziej znane i mniej znane miejsca. Oczywiście destylarnia rumu Bundaberg, który sprzedawany jest na całym świecie była jedną z nich. Na końcu degustacja, która jedynie pozwoliła mi utwierdzić się w przekonaniu, iż alkohol bez słodyczy nie przypasuje mojemu gustu. Tak więc mimo degustacji jednego z ich popisowych rumów Solera za ok. $180 o wiele bardziej zadowolona byłam z likieru czekoladowo-kawowego i bananowo-karmelowego za ok. $50. Niestety ten pierwszy sprzedawany jest wyłącznie na miejscu. :(

I lived there for 5 months so I had the opportunity to get to know this town really well. With the help of local friends, I have visited more popular and less popular places. Of course, the Bundaberg rum distillery, which sells their rum all over the world, was one of them. At the end of the tasting, which only allowed me to confirm my conviction that non-sweet alcohol will not suit my taste. So despite tasting one of their showpiece rums - Solera - for about $180 I was much more satisfied with chocolate-coffee liqueur and banana-caramel liqueur for about $50. Unfortunately, the first one is sold only on the spot. :(

Kolejną atrakcją Bundaberg jest park botaniczny z japońskim i chińskim ogrodem. Idealne miejsce żeby uciec od zgiełku miasta i zrelaksować się na łonie natury. 

Z drugiej strony, jeżeli ktoś potrzebuje więcej akcji, centrum rozrywki oferuje kręgle, lasery i wiele innych gier i zabaw. 

Jest to także miejsce, w którym jest mnóstwo backpackersów, tj. młodych ludzi, tak więc z pubach takich jak Young Aussi czy the Globe na pewno poznamy wielu ciekawych ludzi, a potańczyć z nimi możemy na imprezie w Central Hotel.

Another attraction of Bundaberg is a botanical park with a Japanese and Chinese garden. The perfect place to escape from the hustle and bustle of the town and relax in the nature.
On the other hand, if someone needs more action, the entertainment center offers bowling, lasers and many other games.
It is also a place where there are many backpackers so in pubs such as Young Aussi or the Globe we will surely meet many interesting people and dance with them at a party in Central Hotel.

KINKUNA NATIONAL PARK

Jeżeli do dyspozycji mamy terenowy samochód to jest to miejsce, które trzeba odwiedzić! Przepięknie niebieska woda, piaszczysta plaża i spokój. Uwaga! Mogą pojawić się pożary, szczególnie w porze suchej.

If you have an off-road car at your disposal then this is the place to visit! Beautifully blue water, sandy beach and peace. Attention! Fire can occur, especially in the dry season.

BARGARA

Najbliższym nadmorskim miasteczkiem jest Bargara. Typowe turystyczne mini-miejsce w którym możemy dobrze zjeść, poskakać z falami pod okiem ratownika i wypić mrożoną czekoladę. Polecane przeze mnie miejsca to azjatycka restauracja Bargara Asian Cuisine oraz kawiarnia w kształcie starego młyna - Windmill Cafe.

The nearest coastal town is Bargara. Typical tourist mini-place where we can eat well, jump with the waves under eye of a lifeguard and drink frozen chocolate. My recommended places are the Asian restaurant Bargara Asian Cuisine and the café in the shape of the old windmill - Windmill Cafe.
